Powering Smarter Construction: Nesma & Partners Pilots Solar-Powered Site Office
Nesma & Partners has launched a pilot solar-powered site office at the EXPO 2030 Riyadh project, demonstrating how renewable energy can support temporary construction infrastructure while reducing reliance on conventional power sources.
The modified 20-ft container is equipped with solar panels and battery storage, enabling it to operate independently of the power grid while powering essential site functions, including lighting, climate control, and day-to-day office operations. The pilot provides an opportunity to evaluate how renewable energy solutions can be integrated into live construction environments without compromising operational requirements.
We're partnering with Smart Energy Solutions (SES) to assess the technology's performance in real-world conditions and evaluate its potential for future projects.
Beyond supporting more sustainable construction practices, the pilot will help the team better understand the operational benefits of solar-powered temporary infrastructure, particularly for remote or temporary project sites where conventional power solutions can be more challenging.
As the pilot progresses, the insights gained will help evaluate the role of solar-powered temporary infrastructure in supporting future project delivery across the company's operations.
