11 Million Safe Man-Hours Mark Successful Tanajib Project Completion
Nesma & Partners has successfully completed the LSTK Sulfur Handling Facility at the Tanajib Gas Plant, delivered to Saudi Aramco as part of the Marjan Increment Program (MIP) Sulfur Handling Facilities – Package 14.
The milestone was achieved with 11 million safe man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), reflecting the commitment and collective effort of the people involved throughout the project.
The facility involved a complex multidisciplinary scope covering sulfur storage, loading, and handling systems, as well as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, equipment installation, tank construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning-related works. Delivering this scope required close coordination across disciplines while meeting Saudi Aramco requirements and applicable industry standards, including API 650 for tank construction.
Safety Embedded in Execution
Safety was integrated into daily operations through structured risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses, permit-to-work controls, toolbox meetings, competent supervision, and continuous inspection. Teams were empowered to intervene and stop work when unsafe conditions were identified, reinforcing shared responsibility across the workforce.
The 11-million-hour milestone reflects the consistent application of these practices by project leadership, engineers, supervisors, HSE and quality professionals, skilled workers, subcontractors, and support teams.
Quality Supporting Excellence
A structured quality approach complemented the project’s safety performance, with Inspection and Test Plans, non-destructive examination, hydrotesting, tank calibration, and other verification activities incorporated throughout construction. These measures supported delivery in line with the project’s technical and quality requirements.
The successful completion of the Tanajib Sulfur Handling Facility demonstrates Nesma & Partners’ capability to execute complex energy infrastructure through disciplined planning, integrated teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
As Nesma & Partners continues to support Saudi Arabia’s energy and industrial development, the project reflects what can be achieved when expertise, accountability, and collaboration come together.
11 million safe man-hours. Zero LTI. One team delivering excellence.
